Jazz on the Lawn

2009

I always enjoy logging onto your website to see the new pictures, not enough going on in this city for family fun.  Thank you so much for giving Jazz on the Lawn to this community, we love it and share our feelings with all our friends.  Jazz on the Lawn has become a family tradition for us and will continue to be for as long as you allow us the pleasure.

-Susan Williams, Clarksville, TN

Jazz on the Lawn 2009 Concert Dates:

May 9th - Delicious Blues Stew
Shannon's fun & energetic Cajun band from Nashville, TN has been our season opener for at least 5 years.  What a way to kick off a great season in 2009!

May 23rd - Jim Gibson
We met Jim by chance at a Luciano Pavarotti concert in Nashville.  After striking up a friendship we invited him to come play Jazz on the Lawn.  He moved to California about 5 years ago and still comes to Clarksville every Memorial Day to play here and salute our troops.

June 6th - The Heard
Moving back to Nashville from California, leader Rick Stone wanted to create the ultimate party band.  The Heard is literally a 'herd' of 11 band members crowded onto our small stage that can make anyone want to get up and dance.

June 20th - Tina Brown
Tina and her band can really belt it out with some great R&B, as well as other genres of popular music.  A great show.

July 11th - Richard Waters & The Blues Boyz
One of the longest playing bands we have had at Beachaven, Richard and his Blues Boyz have been playing here for 10 years.  They are always a band that people come back year after year to enjoy.

July 25th - The Famous Unknowns
We were extremely sad to learn that leader and ultimate harmonica player Mark Sallings died in a car crash this winter on his way to meet his band in Tunica.  His band will continue to play his music in a tribute to Mark.

August 8th - Hypertension
Freddy Jefferson and his group ALWAYS put on a terrific performance.  You WILL get up out of your seat for this band!

August 22nd - CJQ
The Clarksville Jazz Quintet is the original band we hired for the very first Jazz on the Lawn.  And they are still one of the most popular groups that play our venue.  They are all teachers in this area and play jazz together for fun and relaxation.

September 5th - Joel Brown
Highly energetic, local musician and school teacher Joel is an entertaining and talented artist, not to mention good looking!!!

September 26th - King Bees
All the way from North Carolina, this trio has been playing Jazz on the Lawn for about 5 years now.  The Queen Bee is a tiny woman with a BIG voice.  Don't miss it.

October 10th - "The Next Level" Featuring Ms. Renay
Her band will be new to us this year.  She will perform a variety of songs you know and will want to dance and sing to.

October 24th - Richard Griffin Band
The perfect band for our season finale, Richard is versatile, talented, and FUN.  He will leave you breathless and asking for next season to hurry up!

Concert Information:

Our concerts are free admission with free parking.  You gotta admit, that's the best deal around!
The music always starts at 6:30 pm and goes until 9:30 pm.  Because seating is "general admission",
it pays to get here around 5 pm to get both a good parking spot and a good viewing spot on the lawn.

As always, there are some terms and conditions.
Ours are few and simple, and we call them the "Rules of the Beach":
Please bring with you: your friends, a picnic, and a blanket and/or lawn chairs.
Please DO NOT bring with you: pets, grills, and outside alcohol.
Also, please pick up your trash!  We provide dozens of trash receptacles around the lawn.
